This Place Value – Read the Room pack is differentiated. Explore the cards and record your answers. Let your kids be Place Value – Read the Room gurus. Copy and display around the room Each set is a different color Decide what level each student is on and they work on best fit There are recording sheets for each level or a black and white copy to use Each group then compare answers and discusses if they have something different This encourages negotiation and checking reasonableness of answers This pack contains sets for Two digits – pink Three digits - orange Four digits – green. This has two sets – one for numerals with and one without commas Five digits – blue. This has two sets – one for numerals with and one without commas Note – There are sets to use with both commas and no commas. In Australia we do not use the comma in numerals above 999. We use a small space. Europe does not either. In 2024 the decimal point will be replaced with the comma. So to remove the comma now allows for no confusion when reading large numbers with decimal places. Our petrol bowsers and many packaged food items are already using the comma as a decimal point.
